Hello, I live in the small town of Elk, on the wild Mendocino Coast of Northern California. I shoot the landscape with film-based cameras and produce silver gelatin prints the old-fashioned way, hand processing in chemicals in the traditional darkroom.
I get great satisfaction in making a beautiful print. It is a special pleasure to examine and experience the qualities of a well-made print. Yes, the internet has made viewing easy and fun, but the print is somehow more real.
I have studied with California photographers Per Volquartz and William Scott.
I have done many gallery shows over the past few years, but have not been entirely satisfied with the experience. The shows are generally only up for a month and due to the limits of geography and time, relatively few are able to view the work.
In order to promote the appreciation and collecting of silver gelatin prints, I will be offering several print sales in 2015 with very reasonable prices. All prints hand printed, mounted and over-matted on archival rag board.
I welcome any questions or comments you may have.
